Steelers New RB LeGarrette Blount To Wear No. 27

blount27According to a Monday report, new Pittsburgh Steelers running back LeGarrette Blount will wear jersey No. 27.

Blount wore No. 27 during his first three seasons in the league with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but had to wear No. 29 with the New England Patriots last season.

For the last four seasons, Jonathan Dwyer has worn No. 27 with the Steelers. Dwyer, however, signed with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

Prior to Dwyer wearing No. 27 for the Steelers, defensive back Joe Burnett wore it during the 2009 season.

Well that escalated quickly lol jk im much happier we have Blount over Dwyer I got so sick of wveryone riding Dwyers jock like he was Barry Sanders 2.0 or something.

Yeah, we all hoped and waited for four years!
It was time to move on, and I think Blount will be a move up! Unless he starts fumbling…that’s the quickest way into the doghouse.

His Twitter background still has his character wearing 29. Might want to change that.

he will definitely fumble … ( I’m sure good for 3-4 fumbles for the year) but still he was a SOLID signing … ALL RBs fumble … i guess it just matters how timely or costly they are !

  • shawn

Dwyer was good .. and cheaper … but i do think this was a good signing and an upgrade as long as he is not a head case anymore !

It’s all about timing, it seems, with Coach? Fumble at the wrong time and u get spanked. It’s worse for the situational guys, though. When they only get a few touches, and they’re in crucial situations, we can’t have him lose it. On 1st and ten maybe they’ll let it slide? But not 3rd n goal in the 4th quarter.

As long as he doesn’t wear number 47.
