LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr. Would Probably Fit In Well On The Steelers Charity Basketball Team

While he might not be considered a “tall” wide receiver, LSU product Odell Beckham Jr. certainly makes up for his lack of height with a great vertical jump.

Recently, Beckham showed off his dunking skills at his old high school, Isidore Newman in New Orleans, and posted a video of it to his Instagram account.

Beckham, who measured in at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine at just over 5’11”, posted a 38.5 inch vertical jump while in Indianapolis and many have him pegged as the third or fourth-best wide receiver in this year’s draft class.

The Pittsburgh Steelers certainly appear to be interested in Beckham as they took him out for dinner the night before his Pro Day last month.

In his latest mock draft, ESPN draftnik Mel Kiper Jr. has the Steelers selecting Beckham with the 15th overall selection in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In my latest Steelers mock draft, I also have Beckham as the Steelers first-round pick.

During his college career, Beckham registered 143 catches for 2,340 yards and 12 touchdowns, but it is unknown what his field goal and foul shot percentages were. The Steelers charity basketball team might want to research those numbers just in case.

It’s really too bad that big snack isn’t on the team anymore. Big snack could block that with his negative one inch vertical.

I’m telling y’all he might not be that tall but he goes up and gets the ball better than any receiver on our team

  • Kevin Gobleck

I mean if were looking for help on our basketball team, i’m sure the 6-5 Kelvin Benjamin could block a few shots

There we go, who ever we’re deciding between with our picks, just have them play 1-on-1 for 15 minutes lol

no doubt if we hadn’t picked wheaton last year i would be all for him … solid WR by all means … will and should do well … but still think we need a Big guy that can help us put points on the board !

Casey could dunk a basketball while at UT. Actually for his size, pretty athletic.

  • Kevin Gobleck

I would pay to see that

  • steelster

yes, he was a great athlete for his size.

Ebron would be a much better pick, Heath is getting older, and he would give Ben big target.
