Steelers Have $311,934 In Salary Cap Space After Signing P Adam Podlesh

Judging by the latest NFLPA update, the contract signed on Wednesday by punter Adam Podlesh was a one year, qualifying contract that comes with a reduced cap charge of $570,000.

It does not appear as though Podlesh was given a signing bonus due to the cap number only displacing $75,000.

Now that the NFLPA has corrected their error associated with the post June 1 release of linebacker LaMarr Woodley, the team now has $311,934.00 in available salary cap space.

The Steelers will receive nearly $8 million in additional cap space following displacement come June and that is more than enough to sign the 2014 draft class and get a few contract extensions done in addition.

    Good deal.

Nice. Competition was needed, we have a greenhorn and now a veteran, one has a big booming leg and the other is known as more of a technician. May the best man win.

I won’t play for the veteran’s minimum! On a serious note, I wonder if the asking price for Jermichael Finley is lowering any. If he is still unsigned, could he be an option after the 8mil frees up? If it’s a low risk signing, I’d love to see if he still has it.

  • No, Doubt he will ever get medical clearance.

  • steeltown

No idea, but I know Seattle and Miami both have interest if he’s cleared.. and we all know how MIA overspends

  • Probably get 30 million for one season guaranteed.

  • Matt Manzo

Harrison will play for 300k right?!

  • Steve

Debo and Keisel may be signed after june 1 when 8mil is free’d up.

  • Geoff Cordner

Darn Miami.. bye bye Finley.. so much for that pipe dream.

  • Geoff Cordner

I’m rooting for the greenhorn crazy kid

  • Geoff Cordner

True! Both would get 1 year deals, right?

  • Steve

Vet Minimum, if they will sign for that. Keisel said he won’t do it, but so did Clark and he took what he can get.
