Steelers Hosting DE Scott Crichton, CB Shaquille Richardson, CB Jason Verrett For Pre Draft Visits

The Pittsburgh Steelers are entertaining three more pre draft visitors on Monday and all three play on the defensive side of the ball.

According to Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest, Oregon State defensive end Scott Crichton, Arizona cornerback Shaquille Richardson and TCU cornerback Jason Verrett are all in on Monday.

Measuring in at under 6’3″, Crichton might be a candidate to switch to outside linebacker in the Steelers defense. He finished his college career with 165 tackles, 51 for a loss, and 22.5 sacks.

Verrett, an undersized yet impressive cornerback, is coming off of labrum surgery but is expected to be ready by the time training camp rolls around.

Richardson has all the measurables teams like from a boundry cornerback, but is expected to be a day-three selection.

Im starting to like this Richardson kid in the later Rds, he has good size and was productive in college

I am hoping we go CB a couple times in this draft. If we don’t go in Rd 1 for Gilbert or Dennard, I could see Verrett in Rd 2 and I like Richardson later in the draft as a 2nd CB draft pick for us.

My main man Scott critchon!!!!! He had this hit on Marcus marriota where the kid looked like he was about to cry lol….he body slamed Shaq Evans from behind in the flat…I love this guy…he’s mean

We seem to be in sync with the FO this year?!
All the guys we like, they bring in for visits!

All three are Dave Te’ approved!

He actually reminds me a little of a young Lamar Woodley. Not quite as quick but a little bigger/stronger. And very nice pass rushing burst.

He’s another guy that should be there in that late 2nd to 3rd round range where we don’t have a pick. Please Colbert, trade down.

  • StarSpangledSteeler

That’s a good point. Some years the Steelers bring in a lot of guys that make us say “Huh?” Not so much this year.

Ya! There’s some wtf years for sure! I always feel like I’m looking at a completely different board.
I still don’t know why Burfict and Blount weren’t Steelers as rookies? Well, at the time both did have attitude issues, but what young kids don’t? And they coulda been 7th rnd picks or udfas!
Last year we were close but this year feels even closer!
