2014 Draft

Steelers Kevin Colbert, Mike Tomlin On Hand For Penn State Pro Day

The Penn State Pro Day is taking place on Tuesday and we have visual proof that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert are present for it thanks to a picture posted on Twitter by Tony Mancuso, who is the Assistant Communications Director for the school.

It’s not hard to speculate that the Steelers brass are hand to watch Penn State wide receiver Allen Robinson and defensive tackle DaQuan Jones go through the paces on Tuesday.

Robinson, who recorded 97 catches for 1,432 yards in 2013, measured in at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine at 6025 and weighed 220 pounds. He is believed to be a second round prospect.

Jones, who led Penn State with 11.5 tackles for loss in 2013, measured in at the combine at 6036 and weighed 322 pounds. He is projected by several to be a late second or early third round prospect.

Interesting enough, the last time the Steelers drafted a player out of nearby Penn State was in 2009 when center A.Q. Shipley was selected in the seventh-round.
