Steelers Pre Draft Visits: CB Bradley Roby, LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, LB Carl Bradford In Pittsburgh Friday

The Pittsburgh Steelers are closing out the week by hosting three more defensive players for pre draft visits on Friday.

Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby leads the Friday list of visitors. Roby started all thirty-six games he played in at Ohio State, lining up at right cornerback for thirteen games as a freshman and his next twenty-four on the left side. He recorded 179 tackles (132 solos) with an 11-yard sack and 7.5 stops for losses of 42 yards during his career. In addition, Roby deflected 36 passes and returned eight interceptions for 226 yards, and a pair of touchdowns

Boston College linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis is also in on Friday. Pierre-Louis started all forty-four games that he suited up for at Boston College, lining up at weak-side outside linebacker for his first thirty-one contests before concluding his career with thirteen starts on the strong-side.

Arizona State linebacker Carl Bradford rounds out the list. Bradford started the final twenty-eight games of his forty-game career at Arizona State, as he recorded 154 tackles (110 solos) with 21.5 sacks for minus 155 yards, 43.0 stops for losses of 213 yards and six quarterback pressures. Last season, Bradford tied for the team lead with 8.5 sacks for minus 70 yards, ranking eighth in the conference.

They are really doing their due diligence on the higher round CB’s. Sounds to me like they will be taking one in either round 1 or 2. I don’t think Roby will be there for round 2. I think the Steelers could wind up trading down in the 1st round and maybe trading up in the 2nd round, depending on who is available. The other two guys would be later round picks. I haven’t heard of the LB before. I always liked the other LB from Boston College, Steele Devitto, one of the best names in the draft. He will probably be an undrafted rookie free agent, though. I’m still waiting on some more DL to come in.

Both LBs are intriguing prospects, especially Bradford, I would think Pierre-Louis at his size is another tweener type sort of like Garvin

They seem to be trying hard to find a nickel LB. Spence, Garvin, Shazier, Pierre-Louis. They’re also bringing a more safety types than I’d expect, again maybe looking for more guys to play in subpackages. Could also be a reason for so few DL visits when they don’t even have 3 starters. Could they possibly be planning on making the nickel/dime package be the base defense?

Its hard to say, they sure use the package a lot though. Some of it might be the fact that we don’t really have much behind Timmons if god-forbid he suffered an injury and none of the current inside guys have proven to be 3down LBs besides Timmons.. also, I still think they’ll bring in a few more DL prospects before its all said and done. Alteast they brought in my personal favorite, Tuitt

Would love to be able to get Tuitt. So many good players in this draft. I really like Clarke and Hart as middle round 34 DEs prospects.

Carl Bradford could be a steeler in may….sneaky good pass rusher….mid to late round pick for depth (if they don’t surprise us all and go OLB early)

  • stellarsfan

You could say: ” let’s get Tuitt.”

  • William Weaver

    Booooooo… Lol

  • Steve

Might be right, he even plays on Special Teams and took the snap on a punt and made a nice runback.

The Roby video just makes me want Abbrederis even more…lmao!!!
