The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers 2014 Schedule, Top Rated Cornerbacks & More Episode

terriblepodcast

Season 4, Episode 97 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd start this show off by completely over analyzing the Pittsburgh Steelers 2014 schedule that was released Wednesday evening. We go over what we believe to be the toughest games along with a few other tidbits associated with it.

The Steelers are continuing to host players for pre draft visits, so we go over a few of the players that recently came to town and that turns into us talking once again about the top-rated cornerbacks in this year’s draft class. We speculate about how many we think will go in the first round and whether or not any will drop to the Steelers in round two should they bypass the position in round one. Are any of these top five or six cornerbacks considered can’t miss players?

We discuss a few wide receivers along the way and agree that we differ in opinion on where USC wide receiver Marqise Lee will be drafted.

As usual, a few more talking points are mixed in and discussed during the show that are not mentioned in this recap.

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Man, that is a strong statement. You stressed “Cant miss CB”. That is tough. I think I would say that as a number 2 corner I woudl say there are 4 sure locks. DD, Gilbert, Roby and Fuller. I think there are many people with Joe Hadens meaurables that fizzle in the league. Comparing DD to him and calling him a lock is tough. I’ll go out on a limb and say that Gilbert will be a number one corner somewhere.

  • Doug Sawyer

are any of the top 5 most hyped CB’s a Rod Woodson?Does it make sense to get your CB at 15 and then draft another CB in the 2nd or 3rd or 4th?seems like that’s admitting you have questions about your own pick…I think it’s easier to draft a CB in the 2nd and 3rd and not and not have the perception problem..

that being said I personally believe the CB issue is the Steelers most pressing issue and they must address that issue with multi CB’s in the top half of the draft.
just think it’s easier to do that with non first round guys and multiples of them as insurance

  • srdan

Issues for the team should nto be addressed in the first round. That is a shortsighted approach. It should truly be whoever is deemed to be able to have the biggest impact on the team in 3-4 years should be drafted. Not to try and get a corner to play the first year. That can easily be a disaster.

You know, I’ve mentioned this before time and time again, something about Kevin Colbert and his decision making process about CB’s. Go back and take a look over the past 14 or 15 yrs he has been with the organization, he simply doesn’t draft well when it comes to CB’s. I think if Dennard (whom I’m not that high on) and Gilbert are off the board, they should try and trade down. I hope they do not reach for that Kid from Ohio State, Roby doesn’t impress me at all.

  • Matthew Suloman

He dosent draft well PERIOD.. Xavier Rhodes last year.. Jamie Collins… Stedman Bailey… Marcus Lattimore… Philip Thomas… Not getting a third for sanders And trading for Shamarko, when he fell to their original 4th anyway – it was the jones pick they traded for. Worst GM by far. Complete bonehead

  • Matthew Suloman

Xavier Rhodes would have stepped right in last year.. Colbert is so terrible. I’m sick in my stomach the Rooneys don’t see it

  • Matthew Suloman

Xavier Rhodes would have allowed us to relax this year.. But noooooo…Kevin had to have Jarvis
