Operator Of Eight Nevada Sports Books Has Steelers Favored In 10 Games

Just last week, the Las Vegas Hilton released their 2014 win total numbers for all 32 teams with the Pittsburgh Steelers being set at 8.5. On Thursday, Nevada oddsmaking firm, CG Technology, which operates eight Nevada sports books, released their 2014 regular season pro football lines for the first 16 weeks of the 2014 season and they currently have the Steelers installed as favorites in 10 games.

Per a report on Pro Football Talk, below are the teams the Steelers are currently favored over.

Cleveland (-5), Tampa Bay (-3.5), at Jacksonville (-6.5), Houston (-3.5), Indianapolis (-2), Baltimore (-2.5), at N.Y. Jets (-2), at Tennessee (-2) New Orleans (-2.5) Kansas City (-1.5)

Not surprisingly, the four games that the Steelers are currently listed as being the underdog in are all road games.

at Carolina (+3.5), at Cincinnati (-3), at Atlanta (-3.5), at Baltimore (-2)

As you can see, the Week 6 game on the road at Cleveland is not listed, so that game might be currently listed as EVEN.

I’m on the fence with that Saints game, but everything else I agree with.

    I’d be happy with 10-6.

I’d be ok with 9-7 IF we got into the playoffs AND the 7 losses were hard fought battles and none of the blunders from last year! 9-7 would only be ok if Ben threw for 3500yds and Bell and Brown both had 1k too! With Bryant racking up 750 and 9 TDS!!!

    8-8 would suck, big time!

A losing record would make me drag my wife across a hotel carpet, and get so hammered I bump into someone and spill their taco, then I’d drive off with prescription drugs that aren’t mine and $27 thousand dollars in cash!

Considering that we went 8-8 the last two years, 9-7 doesn’t so bad but when you look at our schedule I still think it would be pretty disappointing. Cleveland x2, Houston, Jacksonville, TB, NYJ, Tennessee. Those 7 games I would say we should absolutely win if we’re consistent this year.

If we only went 2-7 in our games against good teams or if we continue to lose to terrible teams like the Titans and Raiders last year.. well it might be better than last year but still pretty lackluster to go 9-7 with that schedule imo

  • Matt Manzo

I’d only be ok with 9-7 if we left those loses bloody, and dirty!

The Dec. home game against Cincy doesn’t appear on your list.

  • SteelersDepot

says why in the post. first 16 weeks

  • JohnB

I have faith in us for the Saints game. We’ll be coming off a bye and at home and our guys should be comfortable by then. Only thing that scares me is NO had a good draft so if that translates that’d put me on the fence.

  • Kenneth Wilt

I saw 16 weeks and thought….16 games. I forgot the bye week.

This has nothing to do with how many games books think they’ll win. It is about where they think betters will place their money.

  • steelster

Yes but why not bet a coffee on the win total

  • Steelers@2010

Cleveland will be better this year; they almost beat the Steelers in the first game last year. Hoyer torched the secondary; the Steelers have a lot of new and young players on Defense and offense this year, I predict they will finish anywhere between 8-8 or they could shock the league and finish 11-5.

Better not let your wife see this or your MUD!(HA HA)

  • Riverstko

I agree at least 10 and 6 but with the current roster potential 11 and 5.

  • Jason White

The Steelers beat the Browns easily both times last year (27-11 in week 12 and 20-7 in week 17) and they never faced Hoyer as he was already on IR.

  • Jason White

10-6 has been my pre and post draft prediction but until the pads start smacking we won’t have a real grasp on it. My two biggest interests is to see how they utilize Shazier and Archer. Both can be wildcards on their sides of the ball IMO. Shazier doesn’t even have to start and I think his impact will still be felt heavily in the sub packages. Archer should be excellent as a returner but if he is integrated into the offense properly he can be an explosive asset. He has the speed and acceleration to send defensive coordinators to a padded room highly medicated.

I am saying it here and now, we are going to be alot better than people think we will be. We went 6-2 down the stretch. I think we are much better than we played the last two years and I think this year it will show through with the youth injection we received. I FULLY expect to go 11-5 or 12-4 this year. Remember, you heard it here!!!!!

  • Jason White

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised by it. I came in conservative with my 10-6 prediction but we’ll see. Most people still see it as the sky is falling but I am more optimistic.
