The Terrible Podcast – Talking More Steelers 2014 Draft, Dri Archer, Roster Locks & More Episode

Season 4, Episode 104 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I get right back into talking about the nine players that Pittsburgh Steelers selected in the 2014 NFL Draft as we have had a few extra days now to sleep on the picks.

David had Kent State offensive coordinator Brian Rock on his show this past week and we go over what he had to see about running back/wide receiver Dri Archer.

The Steelers rookie mini camp gets underway on Friday so we have a look at a few undrafted players taking part in it along with a few that are being brought in on a tryout basis.

With the draft behind us, David and I discuss a handful of players on the roster as it relates to whether or not they should be considered locks right now.

As usual, a few more talking points are mixed in and discussed during the show that are not mentioned in this recap.

Thanks for listening and don’t forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!

Any news on getting Dave’Te back on for a draft recap like last yr???

Another enlightening podcast, but NO WAY is Archer getting only 7 plays on offense a game this year … absolutely NO Chance !!!!

He will touch the ball on offense at least 4-5 times a game and that being said u have to put him on the field at least 3-4X that much to be used effectively or otherwise u tip ur hat too much … so bank it … would be very surprised if he wasn’t on the field for 10-15 plays a game … (that comes to about 200+ plays a yr and over 70 touches on offense)

I think this is conservative, even more if he does well … u got to remember he is a HR hitter and thus needs plenty of touches … giving him the ball 1-2X a game just isn’t going to cut it !

Listening to your stats on how Mccluster was being used in KC his rookie year i have got to say that Haley relied on him as a decoy entirely too much … what was that about 1 touch per 10 plays on the field … not very efficient !

I hope he does a much better job in using Dri !
