Ignorant Patriots Fan Gets Response From Steelers RB LeGarrette Blount

Stay classy New England Patriots fans.

It takes all kinds of people in this world and apparently new Pittsburgh Steelers running back LeGarrette Blount has lost a fan after moving on from the Patriots during the offseason.

As you can see by Blount’s tweet below, there is at least one ignorant Patriots fan out there. (CLICK THE ATTACHED LINK BUT BE READY FOR NSFW LANGUAGE)

Blount’s response to the racist remark:

“This makes no sense to me. Like why waste your time writing this to me bro? Crazy! Ignorance at it’s fullest! Smh”

Every team unfortunately has members of their fan base that act like this and it’s becoming more visible these days thanks to social media.

Players moving on from one team to another is all part of the sports business and in the case of Blount, he admitted after signing with the Steelers that he was surprised that the Patriots let him get away in free agency.

“I didn’t think they were going to let me go,” said Blount in an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio back in April. “At the end of the day, though, there is a business of this whole thing and the business part is that they couldn’t meet the requirements of a contract deal with me, so we had to part ways.”

I wouldn’t have even acknowledged it. We all know that the same folks cussing us out over the internet get apologetic when we’re face to face. Don’t give these clowns the time of day.

  • Jason Brant

Writing articles about idiots on Twitter?

Must be a slow, slow news day.

  • IQB

He will write this but when it comes to his precious Big Ben, he picks and chooses stories. Typical .

  • joed32

    They exist in every city.

  • MC

Jesus, and this is after a bunch of people were trending the N word on twitter towards the Canadien player during the Bruins series in the NHL.

  • Steve

After the way Ben acted towards the draft, have lost a lot of respect after the little I had towards him.

  • 20Stoney

You have to admit they do a pretty dang good job of turning out steeler related stuff for us to read even on slow news days. Personally if it doesn’t interest me I don’t read it If I don’t read it I don’t comment on it.

  • Jed

STFU. Anybody hating on Big Ben is not a real steelers fan. Let me guess you’re one of those clowns that believe all the b.s the media writes huh? Real steelers fans support Big Ben period point blank

    First comment……………

  • Jason White

    Amen brother!

  • Ike Evans

2 quotes come to mind when seeing this…i forgot where i got them from maybe some of you know where they came from
“Boston is like San Francisco….. but racist”
“Boston is like Scranton with clams”

    man, i hate the pats

  • DarthVenamis

To be fair to the city of Boston, that rumor simply was not true.

Out of the top 10 all-time Steelers passing seasons, Ben owns the top 8 followed by Bradshaw at 9 and O’Donnell at 10. The TOP 8!!! Respect that!

  • Steve

Creeps like you write stuff as with Blount than hid behind a fake name that was dreamed up. Never was a Ben hater just didn’t like what he said about the draft this year.

  • Steve

No one player is above the team. Players come and player go but the Steelers go on.

  • Ryan

Without Ben wed still only have 4 Lombardis. Players. May come and go but QBs of Bens caliber don’t come around often.

  • Luke Shabro

You can say that all you want but all of Cowher’s great defenses didn’t win a SB until Ben was there. Ben hasn’t always been a great human being but he’s definitely gotten his act together since getting married and having a kid. No one player is above the team and that’s why the Steelers didn’t just draft Kelvin Benjamin in the 1st round to appease Ben.

  • Luke Shabro

Unfortunately, as Dave noted, every fan base has a number of these idiots and Steeler Nation is not immune to this. I’ve seen some comments from fellow Steelers fans that truly make me embarrassed. It just amazes me still that people can act like this and say such ridiculous things in 2014.

  • MC

I agree, i like how he didn’t retaliate in a immature way. I believe these people who direct such offensive statements towards people need to be shamed and with Blount tweeting a pic with his twitter handle im sure he would cop something back from others.
Its just such a b*tch move to attack someone over the internet.

  • MC

I’ve definitely heard the first one…and i dont know where from either.
I listen to podcasts and radio shows from comdedians like Louis CK, Bill Burr and Nick Dipaolo and they are all from Boston and have mentioned that it is a overtly racist city yet liberal…maybe that first quote came from one of them..

  • Madi

    You’re both right 😀

  • shawn

Think your making way too much out of it …. his behavior and attitude on and off the field has been more than exemplary … i too questioned his maturity years ago … but he has definitely grown up and become a good Team Leader as well as a Team player !

  • Ike Evans

Bill burr!!! Thats where i heard it from…that’s my guy

  • Johnny Loose

Bill Burr lmao now that guy is hilarious

  • steeltown

    Wow… madness… ignorance and madness

  • Milliken Steeler

I haven’t always agreed with Steve, but we have had good discussions and he does know football. Whether you agree or not, there is no need to throw profanity at the guy.

as fans sometimes we say stuff in heat moment then look back and wish we didnt or were not so harsh …but that type of stuff isnt from a fan its more of a person who has gone over hill for some reason other then useing the player as there excuse…hope grass is greener for him on other side if not he be there alone..fans just want a honest hard nosed game sure guys leave join another team some times we get on guys for how they played or when they steped out into the law..moneys plenty more now a days and players want just as much as they can get as do owners so they move on its how nfl is now ….their isnt to many players who take less money to stay with a team any more ..we may not like it at times but we arent in the players shoes ..if we were would we move on just like so many do now a days ..for me i would hope i played the game because i loved it and was willing to take a little less pay to stay with my team and fans..but would i say that if i had choice ..i will never know i only know i love a hard nosed football game …and giveing a what for to the fans in afc north not a steeler fan..but i like this side hill also…

  • MC

haha awesome, I listen to Burr almost daily, love that dude, wish he would come to Australia.

  • Rufus Benard

People from Boston as a whole are garbage. A shame he had to get that crap as a message.
