Report: Steelers Expected To Sign Former Ohio State RB Jordan Hall

According to a Tuesday evening report by Westmoreland Sports Network , former Ohio State running back Jordan Hall will be signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday.

Hall, who rushed for 1,568 yards and 14 touchdowns during his four years at Ohio State, was invited to the Steelers rookie minicamp on a tryout basis following the draft, but was not signed. Hall also returned kicks at Ohio State.

Hall reportedly measured in at his Pro Day at just under 5’8″ and weighed 196 pounds. He registered a 4.80 forty-yard dash during that workout.

It should be noted that this report has yet to be confirmed by the Steelers. In addition, there’s no word as to which player will be released to make room for Hall on the 90 man roster if indeed he winds up being signed.

Not very fast for a smaller running back.

  • SteelersDepot

yeah, I wouldn’t rush out and buy his jersey.

  • Johnny Loose

4.8 forty time? I’m pretty sure DeCastro or Pouncey is at least that fast. I’m a buckeye fan and there is no way he is that slow. He must’ve been clocked carrying groceries or something.

  • Matt Manzo

Does he have a RB # or OL?!!!

  • Matt Manzo

Are any of the other rbs brought in that small? Besides Archer?

  • Leon Mcnair

He won’t make the team too slow bye

  • afrazier9

    Why even bring him in

  • afrazier9

Bring in corners olb’s something besides another rb

  • afrazier9

    Dave what is the perpose?

  • Kenneth Wilt

Well, we need more guys in camp if for no other reason than to hand the ball to in the 4th quarter of the preseason.

  • SteelersDepot

I’m assuming someone got banged up. Archer reportedly had ice on a knee. Might need a body.

  • Madi

Some guys just test poorly. Jerry Rice probably had 4.4 speed in his younger days, but clocked in at 4.7.

    They cut CB Deion Belue.

  • steeltown

He can return kicks as well, im sure come preseason they wont want Archer, Wheaton or Bryant returning kicks in the 4th Qtr

  • Eric MacLaurin

Are these moves usually just pre season depth? It would be a time where I would be looking to sign guys with no chance now but that might be interesting practice squad guys.
