2014 Steelers OTA Practices

Report: Steelers FB Will Johnson Back Practicing Again

Even though linebacker Jason Worilds failed to practice again on Tuesday, there was a little bit of good news on the injury front for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to Scott Brown of ESPN.com, fullback Will Johnson (ankle) was back practicing again on Tuesday after missing time last week due to an ankle sprain. That’s great news considering that he’s the only “true” fullback currently on the 90 man roster. With that being said, you have to wonder if the Steelers will sign another fullback body prior to training camp to lighten the load a little on Johnson.

Tight end Michael Palmer (undisclosed) did some running on the side Tuesday, according to Brown. The nature of Palmer’s injury has yet to be reported, but it doesn’t sound serious.

Not surprisingly, second-year defensive end Nick Williams (knee) remains sidelined. It looks like the earliest that we will see him on the field is during training camp. His surgery was pretty significant, so he might be a candidate to start off camp on the Active PUP list. We’ll see.

Cornerback Ike Taylor did not attend practice Tuesday and Troy Polamalu also remains absent.
