Steelers Close Out 2014 Mandatory Minicamp With Two Practices

One more day. Two more practices.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are back at again on Thursday as the final day of the mandatory minicamp week comes to a close.

Many had thought head coach Mike Tomlin would only hold one practice on Thursday, but that won’t be the case as there will indeed be an afternoon practice that will follow the morning walk-through, according to the morning radio reports.

After the afternoon practice concludes, the next stop will be Latrobe later next month as training camp gets underway. This year the Steelers will host the Buffalo Bills for two joint practices just prior to the camp breaking.

I read San Diego HC Mike McCoy ended their minicamps a day early because he was satisfied with the work that they’d put in… how crazy is that? With the new CBA offseason and practice guidelines these players hardly get enough time in as it is… Glad Tomlin isn’t satisfied. Put em to work!

  • From the 4 letter network: some highlights of mini camp.. I thought I would share for you guys!::
Ben Roethlisberger threw long touchdown passes to Antonio Brown and Markus Wheaton during a two-plus hour practice, but the Steelers’ defensive backs also had their moments on a hot and humid day that it made it feel like training camp.

Starting cornerbacks Ike Taylor and Cortez Allen each intercepted Roethlisberger. Allen had a pair of picks while inside linebacker Sean Spence returned an intercepted Landry Jones pass for a touchdown.

Practice concluded with rookie wide receiver Martavis Bryant showcasing his speed by blowing past the Steelers’ defensive backs and hauling in a long touchdown pass from Jones.

  • After missing the playoffs two consecutive years they need as much work as they can get!
