2014 Steelers OTA Practices

Steelers Ramping Up Work On No-Huddle Offense On Wednesday

With have a some no-huddle offense sightings to pass along.

According to Mike Prisuta of DVE Radio, the Pittsburgh Steelers worked a little bit Tuesday on their no-huddle offense and they were back at again on Wednesday.

Per new Steelers wide receiver Lance Moore, the first teamers stayed in for the whole period and that was the first time that’s occurred so far during the OTA practices.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has said recently that he hopes to use more of the no-huddle in 2014 because he feels the team was successful with it in 2013 when it was used.

The quarterback did caution, however, that with so many new faces at the wide receiver position that it could take some time before all of them are on the same page when it comes to the verbiage and hand signals used. The Steelers added Moore and Darrius Heyward-Bey during the offseason to help absorb the loses of Emmanuel Sanders and Jerricho Cotchery.

“It’s going to be tricky,” said Roethlisberger in a recent interview with DVE Radio. “Before we lost two of our starters at receiver I think we would have done a lot of it. Now, we just have to see how much they can pick up because there is a lot involved with it, a lot of hand signals, a lot of code words, things like that.”
