Pouncey Brothers Not Named In Monday Morning Miami Beach Police Incident Report

As of Monday morning, Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and his twin brother Mike Pouncey have not been named in the incident report that was released following them both being accused of assault Friday night.

According to Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Miami Beach police said Monday morning that detectives are still working to confirm speculation that the Pouncey twins were involved in the incident that took place at the Cameo nightclub during their birthday party celebration.

The Pouncey brothers along with four bouncers have been accused of assaulting Miami socialite Ricky Vasquez Friday night at the club and a female accomplice is also claiming on social media that she was struck in the head by Maurkice while trying to break up the fight. Vasquez posted on social media that he suffered a swollen face and a chipped tooth during the incident and that he would be pressing charges.

The fact that no charges have been filed against either of the Pouncey brothers as of yet is of course a good sign. One would think that the club might have some sort of surveillance video of the incident, but there’s been no word if the police are investigating that.

UPDATE: Miami Beach police officer Vivian Thayer said the two accusers are scheduled to give sworn testimony sometime later this week and that detectives are working to obtain security footage of the incident. She said a decision to question the Pounceys will depend on the testimony that is given by the victims and what is discovered on the security footage.

Pounceys are easy targets these days. Not shocked at the accusations, nor that they appear to be bogus.

Being a stud star athlete these days places a huge bulls-eye on your chest. Now let it be clear, I’m not accusing or defending anyone in any way, shape or form. That’s for the authorities to sort out. But what is very obvious here, if you’ve seen this Ricky Vasquez (a more diminutive statured person), is that if the Pouncey brothers did in fact assault him, there’d be one heckuva lot more damage to him beyond what appears to be a very mildly puffy cheek. Sure seems to me like a self proclaimed social media “star” is seeking another 15 minutes of fame (justified or not) …. technology has made each and every one of us instant, live on the scene, reporters. A price comes with fame.

There are countless reports of assault from intoxicated people getting thrown out of night clubs and bars by bouncers and others.. Lets hope the surveillance footage tells a different story

Not at all confirmed to be bogus. Not being named in the complaint means little at this point until interviews are completed and video (if any) is reviewed. What’s troubling to me is that they are drunk in the bar at 4-5 am. The Pounceys better grow up.

It was their own party. They were the hosts unless I misunderstood. And if you will continue reading the latest info, not named in the police report. So, I’ll stick with bogus.

I am not sure of the tendencies of the Miami legal system. But at 4 AM someone would have to be the obvious aggressor or do extreme damage to another person to be charged with criminal assault. If was just some drunk people saying and doing something stupid, it would be a useless case. This socialite didn’t sound like he was so severely beaten that he needed hospitalized. Unless the Pouncey brothers walked up to him and sucker punched him on video, I can’t see the police wasting time on this.
The bar and the Pouncey’s may lose a chunk of change in Civil court. Socialites must maintain their lifestyle after all. Hopefully Roger Goodell won’t view that as a possible suspension.

I don’t care whose party it was, they need to have more sense (i.e., maturity) if they are expected to be respected as leaders. And I read the latest report, doesn’t change anything – I predict that they WILL be named before it’s all over.
