Report: Trio Files Lawsuit Against Pouncey Brothers

According to a Friday report by the Associated Press, Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and his twin brother Mike Pouncey have been sued by the three people who have accused them of attacking them a few weeks ago at the Cameo nightclub in Miami Beach.

A lawsuit was reportedly filed Friday in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on behalf of Ricquan James, Niya Pickett and Brentley Williams and the three are seeking more than $15,000 in damages.

In the lawsuit, The Pounceys are reportedly being accused of harassing James, a Miami Beach socialite, with homophobic slurs and physically attacking him July 12. Pickett is also claiming that she was beaten when she tried to intervene, while Williams is claiming that he was injured when the Pounceys threw the other two accusers out of the club.

Since the incident took place, the Pounceys’ attorney issued a statement stating that the brothers were not involved in any incident. He also threatened legal action if his clients wound up being sued.

As of Friday, no charges have been filed against either of the Pouncey brothers. Maurkice reported to Steelers training camp Tuesday, but was reportedly not asked about the alleged incident when he met with the media upon his arrival.
