The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers Quarterbacks, Roethlisberger Hall Of Fame Worthiness & More Episode

terriblepodcast

Season 4, Episode 118 of The Terrible Podcast is up and with co-host David Todd still out of action, Alex Kozora and I open up this show by talking about the 2014 NFL Supplemental Draft that takes place on Thursday and how the players eligible for it might all go undrafted.

In part two of the podcast, Alex and I focus on the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback position heading into training camp and that includes us thoroughly discussing Landry Jones, Brendon Kay, Bruce Gradkowski and Ben Roethlisberger.

Speaking of Roethlisberger, Alex and I use the extra time this week to discuss whether or not he is already a lock to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame after his first 10 seasons in the league.

To close out the show, Alex and I discuss his recently article on linebacker Jarvis Jones as it relates to the expected amount of sacks he should have in 2014.

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Ben has to finish his career in a way that shows he can play with his brains. Too many sports people down grade Ben. Because he depended so much on his physical abilities more than they think he should have in the past.
He basically hasn’t got enough credit for his mental abilities during the first part of his career.

I’m sure Dave has lost loads of sleep over this topic bout his precious Ben.

Love the idea of sending Alex out

Good point Dave, if Elway got in… Ben surely has a chance… Still obviously needs to finish his career strong

  • Dan

I’d say the second half of last season was a great start in that regard. The coaches gave him more responsibility and the offense blossomed. I can’t wait until he breaks his own franchise record for TD passes in a season, and helps the team break the franchise record for most points scored in a season, both of which will happen this season provided he stays healthy.

Ben and the HOF: I feel that at this moment he is borderline. The biggest argument for him is like Dave said is he has been to 3 SB’s which is an amazing accomplishment but I have never felt Ben is elite. If we were to get to another SB that would push him over that line IMO whether we win or lose.
JJ and this years sacks: I do not want to make seem like I am copying u guys but when u first brought up JJ and what was predicted on him I thought that 8 would be lucky but 5-6 was where I thought he would be. To me that is still a big jump from last year and IMO is acceptable progress.
