The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers Wide Receivers, Kick Coverage & More Episode

terriblepodcast

Season 4, Episode 117 of The Terrible Podcast is up and with co-host David Todd still out of action, Alex Kozora and I open up this show by talking about the recent escapades of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon and quarterback Johnny Manziel. Gordon was of course busted for a DUI over the holiday weekend while Manziel was photographed in Las Vegas while handling money in a very curious way.

After discussing the Browns off the field issues, we move on to talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers with training camp now right around the corner. We tell you what we expect out of Antonio Brown in 2014 as far as his statistics go and also discuss the outlook for Markus Wheaton, Lance Moore, Justin Brown and the rest of the wide receivers on the roster.

As part of that discussion, Alex and discuss the loss of Emmanuel Sanders during the offseason and his lack of clutchness during his time in Pittsburgh.

After breaking down the wide receivers, Alex and I discuss the Steelers kick coverage last season and wonder if the team will bring in a kicker with a stronger leg to challenge Shaun Suisham during training camp.

We answer a Twitter question to close out the show and as usual, several other Steelers talking points are mixed in throughout the podcast.

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.
  • SteveM2

When the hitting starts, I predict that we’ll see some surprises in this 2014 wide receivers battle.

  • Spencer Krick

If Justin Brown ends up winning that #2 spot and has a great year, I’m going to insist that every 6th round pick from here on out is a receiver with the last name Brown.

  • chris ward

Would have to go with Mitchell as the biggest off-season addition, think he will have a big impact on the Steelers defense. Big upgrade at the FS position.

  • Shannon Stephenson

I go with Mitchell as well because we do not know as of yet what Shazier will bring only speculation. Mitchell has a more proven track record in the NFL.

  • SteveM2

Justin Brown, although potentially versatile, is the slowest of all the receivers in this competition.

    Hi !

    Dave and Alex

I listened to The Terrible Podcast Show Season 4 Episode 117 .

Antonio Brown – He is a top receiver in the NFL League . He is very slippery and a great route runner .

Markus Wheaton – I am concern with his durability . He should have a great year , if he stays healthy during the 2014 Season . Will be looking for him during the preseason games.

Lance Moore – He is a smart guy who knows how to get himself open .I am not worried about him. Will not be surprise , if he is starting in week 1.

Emmanuel Sanders -Alex , I know it was a difficult pass from ben to the corner of the end zone against the Ravens . Only Big time receivers can catch a difficult pass like that one from Big Ben . I don’t think that Emmanuel Sanders is a BIG time Receiver . He is a good receiver . QB and Receiver have develop a close relationship between one another . Big Ben and Heath Miller are on the same page .

Martavis Bryant – He is tall , lean and has the potential to be a very talented Receiver for the Steeler’s . He also has large upside which I like .Will be looking to see how he does in training camp and preseason games .

Justin Brown – Tall receiver who has been on the practice squad .Will be looking to see how he performs in preseason .

Darrius Heywar Bay -issues with drops during his NFL career . Will be looking to see how he performs in preseason .

Derek Moye – Tall Receiver . Catch a TD pass in the corner of the end zone against the Bengals MON Night Football . Will be looking to see how he does during training camp and preseason .

    Receiver’s List
    1)Antonio Brown
    2)Markus Wheaton
    3)Lance Moore
    4)Martavis Bryant
    5)Derek Moye

    Go Steeler’s

Ok so I might be slow on the uptake Dave, but is there going to be a separate donating page for Alex or is every donation from here to training camp go to him?
