Bears To Sign Former Steelers, Jets WR Santonio Holmes

It took him a while to find a home but former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes now has one for at least the next couple of weeks.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Holmes has agreed to terms with the Chicago Bears.

HJolmes was released by the New York Jets back in May after playing four seasons for them. The 30-year-old former Super Bowl MVP, has battled foot and hamstring injuries the last two seasons.

Holmes will battle for a spot on the Bears depth chart behind starters Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall.

Holmes was originally drafted by the Steelers in the first-round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. With him heading into the final year of his rookie contract and facing a four-game suspension, the Steelers traded Holmes to the Jets for a 2010 fifth-round draft pick in April of 2010.
