Report: Steelers Reach Agreement With DE Brett Keisel

Veteran defensive end Brett Keisel won’t be signing with the Arizona Cardinals, but it appears as though he will be returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers for one more season.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Keisel and the Steelers have reached agreement that will allow the former seventh-round draft pick to play a 13th year in Pittsburgh.

Keisel, who will turn 36 in September, reportedly turned down an invitation to visit the Cardinals Tuesday after they lost starting defensive tackle Darnell Dockett for the season to a torn ACL.

The return of Keisel to Pittsburgh for one more season will help solidify the Steelers depth on their defensive line. Keisel can now be used as part of the rotation that will likely include Cameron Heyward, Cam Thomas and rookie Stephon Tuitt, in addition to nose tackle Steve McLendon.
