Roethlisberger Expecting To Play Entire First Half Against Eagles

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a short week to prepare for their Thursday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is readying himself to play the entire first half, according to Scott Brown of ESPN.com.

Roethlisberger wll likely be surrounded by the rest of the first-team offense on the road against the Eagles as the third preseason game is generally used as a tune-up for the regular season.

I the third preseason game last year against the Kansas City Chiefs, Roethlisberger played the entire first half before giving way to backup Bruce Gradkowski in the second half. Roethlisberger was 13-of-19 against the Chiefs in that game for 166 yards and a touchdown pass to running back Jonathan Dwyer.

The Steelers worked on their no-huddle offense this past Saturday night against the Buffalo Bills, so it will be interesting to see if they utilize it some on the road this week against the Eagles. According to Brown, Roethlisberger would like to get at least one no-huddle series on road under his belt.
