Steelers Linebackers Worilds, Spence Fail To Practice Monday

The Pittsburgh Steelers have now wrapped up their Monday practice and afterwards head coach Mike Tomlin updated the injury report heading into the preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers.

According to Missi Matthews on the Monday afternoon edition of Steelers Live, Tomlin said that cornerback Devin Smith (hamstring), safety Will Allen (hamstring) and wide receiver Lance Moore (undisclosed) were all able to return to work after all three players sat out the game Thursday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Linebackers Sean Spence (knee) and Jason Worilds (knee) weren’t able to practice Monday per Matthews, who added that Tomlin said he didn’t believe the right knee injuries suffered Thursday night by both players are serious.

According to Scott Brown of, Spence said he only sprained his PCL against the Eagles.

Tomlin is expected to meet the media again on Tuesday and he will likely provide another injury report during his press conference.

I would assume they won’t practice or play this week because there is no need. Rest those knees and hopefully both will be able to practice next week & play in the opener! This is still much better news than I originally feared with those two.

Exactly and with Greg Warren being the only big, long term injury this has been a great preseason and the 1st one in along time that we will enter the season healthy

  • Matt Manzo

Maybe Zumwalt shines in this last game?!!!

  • Jake Miller

Wouldn’t hold my breath, but I suppose it is possible.

We should boycott Missi Mathews like some people boycott the Redskins name and just refer to her as the “Girl who didnt say Hi to Alex” until she says Hi to him.
