Steelers WR Justin Brown Expects To Practice Saturday After Having Nose Fixed

So far during training camp this year, Pittsburgh Steelers second-year wide receiver Justin Brown seems to have a nose for the football. However, thanks to a hit he took during Thursday’s practice from second-year safety Shamarko Thomas, that nose of his had to be surgically repaired.

Brown, who was drafted last year by the Steelers in the sixth-round out of Oklahoma, missed his first practice of training camp Friday night because of a broken nose. He told the media Saturday morning, however, that he feels fine and expects to practice later in the afternoon, and that he will wear a cast and visor to protect his nose.

Brown also stated that he didn’t know his nose was broken until teammates told him following Thursday’s practice.

It’s great that Brown will be back on the field quickly as he’s reportedly looking like he’ll make a solid run at the 53 man roster this year after spending his entire rookie season on the practice squad.

As for Thomas, the player that broke Brown’s nose, he continues to show during training camp why veteran cornerback Ike Taylor says the team has nicknamed him “headache”. That, too, is an encouraging sign.

It didnt stop him as he didnt even realize it was broken until after practice. One day off for treatment is all he needed.

Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton, Lance Moore, Martavis Bryant and Justin Brown. Sounds good to me. I can’t wait to watch these guys August 21st in Philly. I’m curious to see how these guys look during that 3td Preseason game at night on the road.
