Six Practices Remaining In Steelers 2014 Training Camp

After having Tuesday off, the Pittsburgh Steelers will return to the practices fields of Saint Vincent College Wednesday. They will have another practice Thursday before traveling to New Jersey on Friday to play the New York Giants in the their 2014 preseason opener.

The day off that the team had on Tuesday followed six straights days of practices in pads. Rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier missed the last day of those practices with a right leg/knee injury that he suffered late in Sunday’s session and the hope is he’ll be able to resume working on Wednesday.

Also of note is nose tackle Steve McLendon, who has missed the last three practices with what some are calling an illness. Veteran wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey also hopes to return to practice after sitting out the last four because of a concussion.

Including Tuesday, the team has six practices they must get through before training camp breaks. Two of those practices next week will be scrimmages against the Buffalo Bills.

Our very own Alex Kozora will once again be in attendance for both practices this week and he’ll have complete recaps of both of those sessions. The Steelers 2014 season is getting closer.
