Steelers Announce Brett Keisel Signing; DL Al Lapuaho Waived

The Pittsburgh Steelers have now made the return on veteran defensive end Brett Keisel official as it was announced Wednesday morning that he’s been signed to a two-year contract.

To make room for Keisel on the roster, defensive lineman Al Lapuaho has been waived.

Steelers PR man Burt Lauten also reports Wednesday morning that while Keisel will travel with the team for the Thursday night preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, he’s not expected to play.

Keisel will likely need a week or so to get into football shape, so there’s a chance we will see him play in the Steelers preseason finale next week against the Carolina Panthers.

Lapuaho had been signed by the Steelers back in January. He originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Utah State in 2013 with the St. Louis Rams.
