Steelers LB Sean Spence Will Not Need Surgery On Injured Right Knee

It appears as though Pittsburgh Steelers third-year linebacker Sean Spence has dodged a big bullet as the Miami product is not expected to need surgery on the right knee he injured Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

This is certainly great news as Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin would only say after the Thursday night loss that Spence, who has sat out the last two seasons because of a left knee injury suffered during the final preseason game of his rookie season, had an injured PCL.

While Spence will more than likely miss the Thursday night game against the Carolina Panthers, hopefully he will be ready to return for the season opener against the Cleveland Browns. At the very least, it looks like he will not be lost for another season.
