Steelers Remove S Mike Mitchell From Active PUP List

The Pittsburgh Steelers will finally have safety Mike Mitchell back on the field practicing as he has been activated off of the Active PUP list.

Mitchell, who suffered some sort of groin injury prior to the start of camp while training, has been working with the trainers on the side ever since arriving at Saint VincentCollege.

Now that Mitchell has been removed from the Active PUP list, he can’t go back on it. He was the final player remaining on the list after running back Alvester Alexander was waived last week with an injury settlement.

Mitchell, who played last season for the Carolina Panthers, was signed to a five-year contract over the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Oh yeaa I had a feeling this was coming. Let’s get to work.

    Excellent!

  • Jacque Strappe

I hope he’s as advertised. And I hope he goes to work, keeps his mouth shut and goes about his business. You know, unlike his predecessor who never saw a mic he didn’t like.

Nice. My patience level with this injury was just about to boil over too. Can’t wait to hear Kozora’s reports on him.

haha I don’t mind the vocals…as long as they come with some percussion.

He’s a veteran guy so he should be ready to go, but the more on the field reps he gets with Troy the better.

Tomlin had a good comment the other day about groin issues coming about due to “football moves” that impact muscles in different ways. That said, why doesn’t part of the off season conditioning program account for this? There are WAY too many groin tweaks in camp, and they can be lingering issues throughout the season.

Good, just in time to get a few days of practice in before the first preseason game!(though starters won’t see much action)

  • Ike Evans

Yea ….i was just reading how the eagles programs have limited soft tissue injuries in camp the last 2 seasons dramatically

  • JRC
