Steelers WR Lance Moore Missed Eagles Game With Leg Tightness

Veteran newcomer wide receiver Lance Moore sat out the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles and now we know the reason why.

According to Scott Brown of ESPN.com, Moore experienced some “tightness” in one of his legs and sat out the game as a precaution.

“It was kind of a situation where they don’t want to potentially make something worse if they don’t have to,” Moore said of not playing in Philadelphia, according to Brown, “and obviously it was a chance for some of the other guys to get some more time and try to get me back to 100 percent.”

With Moore sidelined against the Eagles, second-year wide receiver Justin Brown replaced him in the Steelers lineup. The former sixth-round draft pick failed to catch either of the two passes thrown his way by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, however.

Heading into the preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers, Moore has played all of 20 offense snaps, so hopefully he will be able to get that tightness behind him quickly in order to get in a little more game-work in with Roethlisberger Thursday night at Heinz Field.

Moore signed a two-year, $3 million contract back in March after playing his previous eight seasons with the New Orleans Saints. He’s caught one pass for six yards so far during the preseason.
