With Week 3 now behind us, here are your updated adjusted net yards per passing attempt differential stats (ANY/A) for all 32 teams.
While it’s still a bit early to give any hard analysis on these numbers, you can really see the haves and the have nots when it comes to both the passing offenses and defenses.
As for the Pittsburgh Steelers, even though they are 2-1 heading into Week 4, they still have a negative differential. The Baltimore Ravens, however, have an even worse differential and like the Steelers, they are also 2-1.
Fortunately for the Steelers, their next two opponents are currently ranked 31st and 32nd in the league when it comes to this stat.
I’ll keep reminding you that I like to use this stat as my own personal power rankings as it really encompasses all aspects of the passing game on both sides of the football. The stat does has it’s flaws, however, because it ignores running games, but after the first five or six games, I think you will see how effective this stat is when it comes to rankings.
