Colts Injury Report: WR Reggie Wayne Ruled Out, RB Trent Richardson Questionable

The Indianapolis Colts will be without at least one of their offensive weapons Sunday when they play the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field and quite possibly even two.

During his Friday talk with the media, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano announced that veteran wide receiver Reggie Wayne (elbow) will not play Sunday. Wayne, who failed to practice all week, was ruled out on the Friday injury report.

With Wayne out, Hakeem Nicks is expected to replace him in starting opposite lineup. Rookie Donte Moncrief should also see extended playing time in the game as well with Wayne sidelined.

In addition to Wayne, running back Trent Richardson (hamstring) could wind up missing Sunday’s game as well. Richardson enters the weekend listed as questionable and will thus likely be a game time decision.

Tight end Jack Doyle (knee) is questionable for Sunday while cornerback Darius Butler (ankle), tackle Gosder Cherilus (not injury related) and defensive tackle Arthur Jones (ankle) all end the week listed as probable.

Wow.. I thought they’d both play in this game

Nice! Now we just need someone to cover Hilton. I think this will make the Colts a bit more explosive with Nicks and Moncrief in there, but nice to have Wayne’s sure handedness ruled out. Just wish Shazier was healthy and experienced enough to stick with their TEs.

You nailed it on your last sentence. Tight End coverage is going to be key. If you don’t think that Pagano doesn’t realize our coverage of TE’s are weak, your fooling yourself. Someone has to step up and cover Fleener and Troy/Mitchell need to have one eye on them at all times and be UP to help out!

  • Rod Hedrick

i think I prefer Richardson over Bradshaw

Yes i’m with you the blue print is out go at Allen he is the weakest link they have ever had. i don’t know why you just don’t sit him and activate Webb let him really sit for a game and see what we look like it cant be any worse

Maybe we can confuse Luck by running Allen around in the secondary pre-snap so he’ll be difficult to find and pick on.

  • Jason

Dwayne Allen is just as dangerous as Fleener. They have 2 very good te’s. That equals big trouble.

  • JohnH

    Well, that’s good news!

  • afrazier9

that is probably the best way to do it lol or switch his jersey number lol

I have to say this i really luv this team but i don’t see any way we win this without pressure on the QB and some turnovers by the defense. And the offense will have to run the ball and keep luck on the side line. Dam that almost sounds like what you would say for the guy that use to be in that position hmmmmm

  • Jacque Strappe

No doubt. Give him 43 and a wig.

With all yhis speed and talentat the wr/rb positions there’s really no reason for this offense not to be dynamic with so many options in play if the o line can hold up
