Robert Golden Working With Ryan Clark At Safety U

It’s always interesting to hear how players are spending their last few weeks of the offseason before reporting to St. Vincent College on July 25th. Honestly, the most newsworthy event during this truly dead period.

Pittsburgh Steelers’ safety Robert Golden is spending some of his time working with former Steeler Ryan Clark at what has been dubbed “Safety U.”

While there is no website setup for it yet, it’s described on its Instagram page as, “Ryan Clark presents a comprehensive training experience for Elite Defensive Backs.”

Though I can’t tell for sure, it appears Clark has set up shop at Performance Enhancement Professionals in Scottsdale, Arizona. He makes reference to the “danny center,” ostensibly for the facilities founder, Ian Danney. This is also the facility where James Harrison is working at while Kelvin Beachum is training in Scottsdale with LeCharles Bentley.

Clark, who retired during the offseason, has several clients including: Tony Jefferson, Brandon Merriweather, T.J. Ward, Rashad Johnson, Tracy Porter, Rafael Bush, and Golden.

Athletic training isn’t the only aspect of the workout. Clark sent out a photo of the group in the film room earlier today.

Clark seems to be doing well for himself and it’s quite possible he expands his training into its own, separate facility. He’s in the process of filing the trademark for “Safety U.”

Golden already looks in tremendous shape.

As always, it’s great to see these players go the extra mile and surround themselves with the best people and teachers money can buy. Marcus Gilbert has also arrived at well-regarded trainer Pete Bommarito’s facility in Miami.
