Cardinals Injury Report: G Mike Iupati Added After Sitting Out Thursday

The Arizona Cardinals Thursday injury report is now out and includes one new name on it.

Guard Mike Iupati (back) was added to the team’s report on Thursday after failing to practice and this certainly warrants watching. Iupati has already missed three games so far this season due to injuries.

Linebacker LaMarr Woodley (chest) sat out again on Thursday. On Wednesday, however, Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians stated that he thought Woodley would be fine come Sunday.

After sitting out on Wednesday, wide receiver John Brown (hamstring) and safety Tyrann Mathieu (heel) were both able to practice on a limited basis during the Cardinals Thursday session. Like Woodley, both Brown and Mathieu are expected to play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Arians.

Cornerback Justin Bethel (foot) and tight end Darren Fells (hip) were both limited once again on Thursday as well.

As for the rest of the Cardinals Thursday injury report, safety Tony Jefferson (neck), safety Rashad Johnson (hip), wide receiver J.J. Nelson (shoulder) and tackle Jared Veldheer (ribs) are all listed as participating fully in practice. Jefferson and Johnson were both limited on Wednesday, so they seem to be moving in the right direction.

The Cardinals are staying and practicing in West Virginia this week after choosing not to travel back to the Arizona following their Sunday game in Detroit.

If Iupati is not a go come Sunday, Tuitt is primed for a monster game.

Steelers DL is a huge strength so far only positive with Ben out we find out how good they are.

Iupati is a LG and would be going against Heyward most of the time?

  • Sdale

They really need some depth. Huge drop-off behind Heyward and Tuitt.

Arizona should have a full contact practice Saturday.

  • Sdale

    Yeah, very happy about that.

Our d line depth is that deep at all I’m thinking maybe we rotate McLendon with Tuitt and/or Heyward when using just 2 down lineman it give them guys some rest with not much of a drop off at all. You can tell how tired they were Monday night which I believe is why Tomlin opted to go for it know our D would potentially struggle in ot

Now that Mcullers is back, it frees up Mclendon to do just that!

  • falconsaftey43

Yeah I think they were doing that before Dan got hurt.

Ohh…. thought he was right. Even better! >:D

He was definitely LG with the Niners, not 100% sure with AZ, but he has also only played in one game so far this year so havent really heard where they have him, but would think if they paid him big FA $ they would keep him at LG
