Crutch-less Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger To Be On Sideline Against Ravens

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will miss his first of what figures to be at least four games Thursday night because of a left MCL sprain that he suffered in Sundays win over the St. Louis Rams but he will be on the sideline for the game against the Baltimore Ravens as he’s already managed to ditch his crutches, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Roethlisberger said earlier in the week that head coach Mike Tomlin has a “no crutches” policy when it comes to allowing injured players to stand on the sideline during games. The quarterback also said that he wants to help out back-up Mike Vick as much as possible Thursday night by offering up his own observations on the team’s sideline.

We will have to see if Roethlisberger is wearing some sort of boot or brace during the game as the television cameras will surely show several shots of him throughout the game.

Vick will be making his first start since Week 12 of the 2014 season when he was a member of the New York Jets.
