Steelers Rule LB Terence Garvin Out For Game Against Chiefs With Knee Injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a significant addition to their injury report ahead of their Sunday road game against the Kansas City Chiefs as linebacker Terence Garvin has now been ruled out with a knee injury.

Garvin, who has played just 8 snaps so far this season on defense, is one of the Steelers core special teams players and he has registered four total special teams tackles so far in the team’s first six games. He wasn’t listed on the Steelers injury report at all this week.

With Garvin now out, there’s a good chance that rookie outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo gets a helmet for a second straight week. Chickillo played on special teams last Sunday and dressed for the game because of Jarvis Jones being sidelined with a hip injury.

Garvin signed a one-year restricted tender this year. He was originally signed by the Steelers in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia after impressing the team during the yearly rookie mini camp as a tryout player.
