Steelers Versus Bengals: Wild Card Week Projected Inactive List

The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Cincinnati Bengals on the road Saturday night in an AFC Wild Card game at Paul Brown Stadium and as usual, here is my weekly guess at what the seven-player inactive list might look like when it is released 90 minutes before kickoff.

DeAngelo Williams – Williams was the lone player to be ruled out by the Steelers on this week’s injury report after suffering a right foot injury in the Sunday regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns. Williams being down means that fellow running back Jordan Todman will dress in his place Saturday night after being inactive for the last five games of the regular season. Todman will back-up Fitzgerald Toussaint Saturday in Cincinnati.

Mike Vick – Vick has been a regular on the Steelers inactive list since Week 7 of the regular season after being passed on the quarterback depth chart by Landry Jones. Vick should be on the Steelers sideline again Saturday evening providing support for starter Ben Roethlisberger.

Byron Stingily – Stingily hasn’t dressed for a game this season since being signed in Week 8 to replace injured starting left tackle Kelvin Beachum on the team’s 53-man roster. Once again, back-up offensive linemen Chris Hubbard and Doug Legursky are both expected to dress as reserves Saturday night in Cincinnati.

L.T. Walton – Walton, the Steelers sixth-round draft pick this year out of Central Michigan, hasn’t dressed for a game since Week 8 and that’s not likely to change Saturday night being as the Steelers are fully healthy at the defensive line position.

L.J. Fort – Being as rookie linebacker Anthony Chickillo was chosen to dress over Fort last Sunday in the regular season finale, there’s no reason to think that will change this weekend. Fort was promoted to the 53-man roster from the team’s practice squad early last week to fill the roster spot that belonged to fullback Roosevelt Nix, who was lost for the season to a foot injury in Week 16.

Doran Grant – Now that the Steelers have safety and special team ace Ross Ventrone back on the roster, Grant, the team’s fourth-round draft pick this year, will likely be inactive again on Saturday. Grant only dressed for three games during the regular season after spending most of the first part of the year on the team’s practice squad.

Sammie Coates – The last inactive spot on my list goes to Coates, the Steelers third-round draft pick this year. The Auburn product only dressed for 6 games during the regular season and has been a regular inactive for the final 6 contests.
