Report: Martavis Bryant Facing Season Long Suspension

Pittsburgh Steelers‘ wide receiver Martavis Bryant is facing a season-long suspension, according to Dejan Kovacevic of dkpittsburghsports.com.

Bryant was suspended four games to start the 2015 season after failing multiple drug tests. After being suspended, he traveled to Houston, Texas to rehab with John Lucas, a former athlete who struggled with drug addition. Art Rooney II expressed earlier this year that the team would stand by him and help him in any way possible.

Bryant told Missi Matthews after the season that he,” learned a lot, got better and matured.” Obviously, if the report holds, those words were empty.

However, according to league rules, a ten game suspension is the next punishment after a full-season ban. A sixth offense is a full-year suspension, according to ESPN.

We’ll update and add to this story as it develops.

UPDATE: Ed Bouchette reports Bryant is appealing the decision.

DeAngelo Williams reacts to the news.
