Steelers Mike Tomlin Makes Annual Appearance At Pirates Spring Training

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin made his annual visit to Bradenton, Florida Monday morning to check in on the Pittsburgh Pirates prior to them finishing up their spring training and he talked with the media during his stopover.

“Kevin Colbert and I enjoy coming down here annually to watch this phase of team development for them,” Tomlin said, according steelers.com. “It’s really exciting for us. We are just in the beginning phases of formulating thoughts and ideas of what our group is going to look like and to see a group in the midst of team development is exciting to us. We always appreciate them opening their doors to us and allowing us to witness it firsthand.”

Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert both likely took in Monday’s exhibition game before leaving to attend the Florida State and Miami pro days that will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

So, how are Tomlin’s baseball skill?

“Minimal,” said Tomlin. “Minimal, but pretty good in my mind.”
