As much as we love breaking down the tape, there is still no substitute for when an NFL coach draws it up. That’s what Bill Cowher does for Real Football Network. Alongside Pat Kirwan, Cowher draws up the basic premise of Cover 1 and a couple of adjustments to it. You can check out the full, four-minute clip below.
Cowher, of course, has been part of CBS’ gameday crew for several seasons now after retiring at the conclusion of the 2006 season. While rumors have always swirled about him getting back into coaching, he’s yet to be a serious candidate for any job. He went 161-99-1 as head coach of the Steelers from 1992-2006.
As long as he keeps doing great breakdowns like this, I have no problem with him staying away from the sidelines.
