Steelers Injury Report: C Cody Wallace Suffers Knee Injury Late Against Eagles

The Pittsburgh Steelers dropped their second preseason game of 2016 Thursday night as they were shutout 17-0 at Heinz Field by the Philadelphia Eagles. While the team appeared to avoid any serious injuries for most of the game, backup center Cody Wallace did suffer a knee injury very late in the contest.

“Cody Wallace got hurt with his left knee there, maybe a hyper-extension late,” said head coach Mike Tomlin after the game. “I don’t know the extent of it, it was maybe the last, or second to last play or so. He’ll be evaluated.”

Wallace wound up playing quite a few snaps Thursday night after relieving starting center Maurkice Pouncey. Last year, Wallace was the team’s starting center after Pouncey was lost for the entire season due to a leg injury.

Wallace was the only player listed by Tomlin during his post game injury rundown.
