The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 24-16 Sunday afternoon at Heinz Field and now enter Week 3 of the 2016 regular season with a record of 2-0. The initial snap counts from the Week 2 game are now in and as usual, here is a recap of the notable numbers from the most recent game.
On offense, the only real thing that sticks out is the fact that backup tackle Ryan Harris is listed as playing 3 snaps in addition to the other offensive linemen playing every snap. I must have missed Harris on Sunday being used as an extra tackle, so I’ll make sure to check this during our charting this week.
Running back Daryl Richardson played one snap on Sunday and he carried the football on that one play as well.
Defensively for the Steelers, linebacker Ryan Shazier, cornerback William Gay and safety Robert Golden were the only three players to play every snap against the Bengals. Rookie cornerback Artie Burns played 32 defensive snaps so that gives you roughly a good idea as to how much dime the Steelers played on Sunday as linebacker Lawrence Timmons was off the field for 30 plays in total. Safety Shamarko Thomas played 4 snaps on Sunday and linebacker L.J. Fort played 1.
Steelers cornerback Justin Gilbert made his debut with the team on Sunday as he logged 7 special team snaps.
