Steelers Vs. Dolphins: Player Snap Counts – Week 6

Steelers versus Dolphins

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered another embarrassing road loss to a team with a sub .500 record on Sunday and now enter Week 7 with a 4-2 record. The initial snap counts from the Week 6 loss to the Miami Dolphins are now in and as usual, here is a recap of the notable numbers from the Sunday game in Florida.

Even though he dressed and played with a fractured left index finger, wide receiver Sammie Coates was only on the field for 17 offensive plays against the Dolphins. Fellow wide receiver Cobi Hamilton, who was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday, played 12 offensive snaps and that included him catching two passes of which one was a touchdown.

Fullback Roosevelt Nix made his 2016 debut on Sunday and played 4 offensive and 7 special teams snaps.

After quarterback Ben Roethlisberger left the game with his knee injury, backup Landry Jones played 5 snaps to close out the first half.

Defensively for the Steelers, safety Robert Golden played every snap in his first game back from injury. Rookie safety Sean Davis failed to see the field on defense for the first time this season.

After linebacker Vince Williams left in the second half with an injury, rookie Tyler Matakevich took over his place in the defense and played 18 total snaps.

Second-year defensive end L.T. Walton played 11 snaps on defense Sunday.

Cornerback Justin Gilbert only played 3 defensive snaps against the Dolphins as the Steelers mostly used their base and nickel packages most of the game.

More stats from the Steelers Week 6 loss to the Dolphins will be forthcoming in future posts after we finish charting the game.
