Steelers Injury Report: LB Steven Johnson Suffers Broken Ankle In Loss To Cowboys

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost 35-30 to the Dallas Cowboys Sunday at Heinz Field and they suffered two more injuries during the game.

According to head coach Mike Tomlin, linebacker Steven Johnson suffered a broken ankle in the first half. If that’s the case, Johnson will go on Reserve/Injured next week.

Johnson, who was signed to a one-year contract during the offseason, was the Steelers leading tackler on special teams heading into Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.

With Johnson now out, look for the Steelers to re-sign LB L.J. Fort, who was waived on Saturday.

Also injured on Sunday was safety Shamarko Thomas as he left in the first half with a groin injury. Thomas has battled a groin injury once already this season and will likely miss more time.

Steelers cornerback Ross Cockrell left the game Sunday with what looked like a shoulder injury but he was able to return. The same goes for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and guard David DeCastro as both appeared to be checked for concussions during the game.
