Steelers Injury Report: Coates, Green Doubtful For Ravens Game; Tuitt Questionable

The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their final injury report ahead of Sunday’s home game against the Baltimore Ravens and it shows the team might indeed be without a few key players for that contest.

Not practicing again on Friday and ruled out for Sunday was safety Shamarko Thomas (concussion).

Ending the week listed as doubtful for the Steelers are tight end Ladarius Green (concussion) and wide receiver Sammie Coates (hamstring). Early reports indicate that neither player will play Sunday against the Ravens, however, as both failed to practice on Friday. If Coates sits, look for rookie wide receiver Demarcus Ayers to play some against the Ravens.

Ending the week listed as questionable for the Steelers are defensive end Stephon Tuitt (knee), linebacker Anthony Chickillo (ankle), wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot), and defensive end Ricardo Mathews (ankle). Heyward-Bey, who hasn’t played since Week 9, was able to practice this week. Chickillo and Mathews also practiced after both sustained ankle injuries last Sunday in Cincinnati.

As for Tuitt, who failed to practice again on Friday, his status for Sunday’s game won’t likely be determined until just before game-time. He is recovering from a sprained right knee that he suffered last Sunday. Look for the Steelers to promote a defensive end from their practice squad on Saturday and early reports hint that it might be Johnny Maxey.

Barring any last minute surprises, running back DeAngelo Williams (knee) is expected to make his return Sunday against the Ravens. Williams, who hasn’t played in a game since Week 9, practiced fully all week.
