Steelers Injury Report: G David DeCastro Sits Out Thursday With Illness

The Pittsburgh Steelers have now wrapped up their Thursday practice ahead of Sunday’s home game against the New York Giants and the team’s daily injury report includes one new name on it

After sitting out Thursday’s practice with an illness, guard David DeCastro (ilness) has now been added to the Steelers injury report.

Not practicing again on Thursday were wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) and running back DeAngelo Williams (knee). Both players are expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Giants.

Practicing fully again on Thursday were safety Shamarko Thomas (groin) and tight end Xavier Grimble (quardricep). As it looks right now, both players should be healthy enough to play come Sunday. Both Thomas and Grimble have missed the last few games because of injuries.

Should Thomas indeed wind up playing Sunday, he will give the Steelers a much-needed hand on special teams.

After being given Wednesday off, wide receiver Antonio Brown (not injury related) practiced on Thursday. He has now been removed from the Steelers injury report.
