The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens 31-27 at home Sunday night to win the AFC North division and a few things stick out from that game when you look at the initial snap counts. Here is a recap.
Offensively for the Steelers, with tight end Ladarius Green sidelined with a concussion, fellow tight end Xavier Grimble played just 9 snaps.
Rookie wide receiver Demarcus Ayers made his NFL debut against the Ravens with fellow wide receiver Sammie Coates sidelined with a hamstring injury and the Houston product played 16 total offensive snaps.
The Steelers used tackle Chris Hubbard as an extra blocker once again on 10 plays against the Ravens.
Running back DeAngelo Williams and wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey both dressed for the first time since Week 9 Sunday night and while the former played one offensive snap, the latter was limited to just playing on special teams.
Defensively for the Steelers, rookie undrafted free agent defensive lineman Johnny Maxey made his NFL debut Sunday night and played 20 total snaps. As expected, James Harrison and Bud Dupree were used extensively at outside linebacker.
Safety Mike Mitchell missed a few plays against the Ravens due to a minor injury and that resulted in safety Robert Golden seeing the field some.
