The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers Bengals Recap, Boswell Stats, DeCastro Penalties, Injuries & More

Season 7, Episode 56 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers win Sunday over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals certainly let this game get away from them in the second half and the Steelers took advantage of it. We talk about the state of Bengals after this game to start and whether or not their locker room has enough leadership. We also discuss the future of Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis.

The Steelers suffered a few injuries in their win over the Bengals so we make sure to recap those.

Steelers kicker Chris Boswell had a great game against the Bengals as all six of his field goals added up to a lot of yards. We throw around a few stats related to that.

Steelers guard David DeCastro had two more penalties called on him Sunday so we look at his play this season in addition to how many of his flags resulted in killed drives.

David and I move on to recap the Steelers win by breaking down the play on both sides of the football. We start with the offense before moving on to the defense. That unit really played great in the second half.

Steelers wide receiver Sammie Coates played quite a few snaps against the Bengals so David and I have no choice but to break down his play.

Is linebacker Bud Dupree playing well right now? Is he disruptive? We discuss that topic.

We wrap up this show by looking at the Steelers playoff scenarios in addition to discussing some clock management and play-calling from Sunday’s game.

As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.

Steelers gonna beat Ravens in a blow out – book it!

Also, Kudos to DD for knocking out Burfict a few plays after Burfict dirty hit DD right in the knees on that same sweep play. “Fool me once.”

Can you imagine of Mike brown hired Haley?

It looked like a DB pulled his hair on an incompletion in end zone – see that?

  • I know Boswell was chosen as this week’s Steelers Digest Player of the Week, but last week and especially this week, the overall best player on the defense was definitely Lawrence Timmons. Two great interceptions two straight weeks in a row and all those great hits he made were outstanding to say the least.

Kudos to rookies Burns and Davis. Over the last two weeks, they’ve both made at least one play per game that really mattered. I like Davis’ ability to hunt the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage. Burns is getting better and better as a cover guy. I’m so glad we picked these two rookies in the draft. When healthy, Hargrave is far from a slouch as well.

I almost forgot. No, I don’t think we should have gone for the two point conversion. We didn’t need it.

  • One more quick one. LOL

Hey Dave, I don’t know who gives you a hard time about your pronunciation of certain words, but in all seriousness, here is why GIF is pronounced with a ‘G’ sound as apposed to a ‘J’ sound.

    GIF: Graphics Interchange Format

If it was pronounced the way you were saying there for a while, it would have to be Jraphics Interchange Format. That just doesn’t make any kind sense. Glad I could help. LOL

Also, Boswell doesn’t kick field golds. He kick field goals. 😉
