The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers Ravens Recap, Week 17 Starters, Playoffs & More

Season 7, Episode 59 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I get right into talking more about the Pittsburgh Steelers come from behind win Christmas night against the Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC North division.

There’s a lot to talk about in this show and David and I start with the Immaculate Extension of wide receiver Antonio Brown on the game-winning touchdown. We wonder how long that play will be talked about moving forward and what the narrative would be Monday morning had he not scored and time expired.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger rebounded in the fourth quarter after playing poorly in the first three so we discuss that in addition to several key plays that took place during that final drive.

The Steelers defense had their share of problems against the Ravens so we make sure to address those in addition to talking about who we thought played extremely well on that side of the football.

I make sure to give guard Ramon Foster a shout out for his play Sunday night and especially when it comes to his pulling to the right side.

Now that the Steelers have the No. 3 seed locked up, David and I discuss which players should sit out the regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns.

What was Twitter like for David and myself during the game? We cover that early in this show as well.

We close out this show by talking about the upcoming playoffs and who we would like to see the Steelers play in the Wild Card round.

As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.

Dave, Mitchell did go out early for a drive or 2 on defense. If I remember right I think it was something to do with his back.

  • Lambert58

    Golden should start for Mitchell.

  • THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT PODCAST! I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A HAPPY AND SAFE HOLIDAY. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! CONGRATS TO THE STEELERS ON GETTING THEIR 600th WIN! GO STEELERS!

(What did you guys think of those ‘color rush’ uniforms? I actually liked them. I like the fact that they had the block-style numbers on the jerseys.)

Correct, sideline reporter said it was a back issue but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t because of a hit. Let’s hope it’s just a strain.

Great call by David Todd here on the playcalling. Haley runs his multi TE/jumbo nonsense to try and outphysical the Ravens, the result is 10 points in six quarters of football. They run largely 11-personnel in the 4th quarters, 35 points combined.

Todd Haley is really the only one who can stop this offense.
