Steelers Injury Report: Green, Chickillo, Mathews Remain Sidelined On Thursday

It’s not looking like the Pittsburgh Steelers will get tight end Ladarius Green (concussion) back for their Sunday Divisional Playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs judging by the team’s Thursday injury report.

Green, who hasn’t played in a game since suffering a concussion in the Steelers Week 15 game against the Cincinatti Bengals, sat out Thursday’s practice once again. With Green now missing both Wednesday and Thursday, it’s very unlikely that he’ll play Sunday against the Chiefs as he reportedly remains in protocol. Green hasn’t practiced since last Thursday.

Also failing to practice again on Thursday were linebacker Anthony Chickillo (ankle) and defensive end Ricardo Mathews (ankle). Both players sat out the Steelers Wild Card game against the Miami Dolphins and it’s looking like they’ll both be joining Green again on the weekly inactive list this coming Sunday in Kansas City.

Running back Fitzgerald Toussaint (concussion) was limited on Thursday after failing to practice on Wednesday. Toussaint, who played Sunday against the Dolphins on special teams, alerted the team on Monday that he was experiencing concussion-like symptoms and was placed in protocol after that happened.

Practicing fully on Thursday for the Steelers were safety Sean Davis (shoulder), safety Robert Golden (ankle), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (foot), defensive end Stephon Tuitt (ankle), and linebacker Vince Williams (shoulder). Golden looks like he’ll return to action Sunday against the Chiefs after missing the Steelers last two games with an ankle injury. As for Roethlisberger, who sat out Wednesday’s practice, he’s expected to be fine for Sunday after suffering a minor foot injury late in the Steelers win over the Dolphins.

Linebacker Bud Dupree (shin) was added to the Steelers injury report on Thursday after being limited in practice and that’s a bit concerning as we head into Friday.

Running back Le’Veon Bell (not injury related) return to practice Thursday after being allowed to rest on Wednesday.
