The Terrible Podcast – Talking Super Bowl LI Recap, Possible Steelers’ Lessons & More

Season 7, Episode 78 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I have no choice but to spend most of the hour recapping Super Bowl LI.

As you can imagine, we have a lot to recap thanks to the New England Patriots record comeback against the Atlanta Falcons.

David and I talk about what both teams did right and wrong throughout the game as well as the few turning points in the second half. We go over a few stats from the game and talk about just how prepared the Patriots always seem to be.

Late in the show, David and I discuss whether or not the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to learn anything new about the Patriots during the Super Bowl and who we would have liked to have had watched the game with when it comes to the coaching staff.

We highlight the play of Falcons cornerback C.J. Goodwin Sunday night being as he was with the Steelers previously.

Needless to say, if you don’t want to hear a lot about the Super Bowl, you should probably refrain from listening to this episode.

As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.

Hey David you uploaded the podcast from Friday. I don’t know if they are all of the same but I use the soundcloud one directly on the Depot.

Colbert and to a degree Tomlin need to rethink paying huge $ to both Brown and Bell and release Green (James is good enough at TE and draft a backup in 4/5th round) on a medical retirement.

Pats get bye with running back by committee and receiver by committee – Gonk was out hurt – but need to figure out if Ben can play small ball and go for 10-20 yard passes for first downs instead of the home run passes to over paid and injury or drug (even if it just pot) issues. Could get at least 3 running backs who are half way productive for what Bell is going to cost via FA or the draft and the same goes for Brown’s projected salary. If Bryant can make it back he is signed on the cheap and see how Coates does in training camp as both can be a home run receiver or 20 yard type receiver. Need to let Harrison retire and not resign Timmons as neither can cover even the slowest receivers and while they still have the ability to tackle and once and awhile get a sack – we need a pass rushing OLB and ILB along with the ability to cover running backs and tight ends and need to get them thru FA not the draft. Never heard Brady talk about retirement but with Ben’s recent comments and the old wise tale that once you start talking about retirement your as good as gone – then next year becomes a rebuilding year in all areas of the roster!
