Steelers Waive RB Karlos Williams

The Pittsburgh Steelers made one transaction on Thursday in addition to re-signing tight end David Johnson.

The team waived running back Karlos Williams.

Williams was originally signed by the Steelers to their practice squad on October 12th of last year. He was then suspended for 10 games at the end of November.

The Steelers re-signed Williams to a futures contract this past January after his suspension was temporarily lifted with reportedly one game remaining on it.

Williams was originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Florida State. During his rookie season he rushed for 517 yards and seven touchdowns. In July of last year he was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse and the Bills ultimately waived him last August.

Williams brother is current Steelers linebacker Vince Williams.
